Plan of Salvation Activities by the Kids

Several years ago, Rob asked the kids to do a Plan of Salvation Activity on our around his birthday to remind their children of the plan for our lives.  I haven't ever written about it in my journal, so I thought I would include photos this time around.

Rob Has Another Birthday

Darling Rob celebrated his 73rd birthday on February 24th with a number of activities!

The night before, we went to the Gerritsen's cabin again to spend the night.  She made a wonderful Red Velvet Cream Cheesecake, but I forgot to take a photo!

When we got home on Saturday, Heather (who had spent the night before) had filled our place with balloons!  What a fun surprise!

The next day, Bryan came up to take us to lunch at Chick Fil-A!

Then, that night, Rob's siblings came for their quarterly dinner and to celebrate with us. (See next post)

It was great because all of the kids called him, which is what he wanted most of all.  I gave him a cool print of "Come Come Ye Saints" written by his gggrandfather, William Clayton.

Finally, Heather hosted us to a dinner on Monday the 26th which included meat loaf, his favorite! And we made a Dunford donuts birthday cake!   All in all, it was such a special time for him...

Our Dominican Missionary Friends and Kathy Rees Funeral

Our dear friend, Kathy Rees, passed away the 18th of February after a long battle with breast cancer, nearly since they came home from their mission in the Dominican Republic.   We were able to attend her funeral in Morgan.

I love this quilt that was made from handprints appliqued onto the quilt.

This was the message that was on the quilt

A number of photo collages of their ten children and all their families

Valentine's Day

We are so grateful that we both try to do little things to make Valentine's Day special.  This year was no exception.

I made Rob two heart-shaped Valentine eggs with cheese.

Rob surprised me at lunch with a beautiful kalanchoe plant in bright red!

That night we went out to the Macaroni Grill for a wonderful Valentine's dinner, paid for by a gift certificate from one of the kids (can't remember who!) that we have been saving for a year!

I sure love this man!
